Live template · Built in a day
Nomad Pro
Grok Bot.
Your travel admin.
A conversation away.
The assistant I wanted when I left the UK: one that checks in, keeps the records, and helps me plan where to go next.
Free template for Grok Bot users. Grok Bot itself requires paid access.
A SMALL CHECK-IN. A COMPLETE RECORD.
And when you're thinking ahead…
The experiment
Months building an app.
A day building the bot.
I built Nomad Pro because I hate admin. Travel history lives everywhere: calendar events, flight emails, bank statements and half-remembered dates. Turning that into a reliable record is a job in itself.
Then I rebuilt the idea as a Grok Bot template. The shift was bigger than a new interface. Instead of opening an app to keep everything up to date, I could have an assistant come to me, work with the tools I already use, and adapt when I ask.
This is the conversational version of Nomad Pro: the same need for clear records, with a much more personal way of keeping them.
How it fits into your life
Less remembering.
More living.
It comes to you.
A daily check-in keeps the log moving. Missed days can be folded into the next conversation, with connected calendar or email records offered for you to confirm.
Your rhythm: daily, weekly, or whatever suits.
Every day has a trail.
Travel and work days live in a Google Sheet you can open, check and edit. Counts and exports trace back to the underlying rows.
Readable records. Corrections you control.
Talk through your next move.
Explore a trip against your logged days, ask for a view of your year, or research places to stay around your preferences and budget.
Your history gives the conversation context.
Optional connections
The tools you use.
Working together.
Connect what helps. The check-in still works if you decline a connection.
Google Calendar Read-only
Suggests travel days from your calendar for you to confirm.
Gmail Read-only
Finds travel confirmations to support your day-by-day record.
Google Sheets Your editable log
Seven tabs: Summary, Days, Records, Trips, Profile, Changes and Outputs. Edit a row and the bot rebuilds from your correction before the next count.
Google Drive Your backups
Monthly backups in your own private Nomad Pro folder keep a copy outside the chat.
Quietly in the background
A routine.
Not another inbox.
The template includes travel-rules and HMRC guidance watches, calendar reviews, monthly backups and a year-end lockdown routine. The watches stay quiet unless they find a change.
The schedule is yours to change in conversation. So is the scope: keep UK residency tracking, or ask it to focus on travel days, Schengen and country stay limits.
These are the workflows described in my walkthrough. Connected services and your configuration determine what the bot can do.
One idea, two ways to use it
The app and the assistant.
Choose the balance of hands-on control and connected convenience that works for you.
Nomad Pro / iOS
A record on your device.
The original app centres on local-first travel records, quick check-ins and a visual dashboard. It's the route for people who prefer keeping core records on-device.

An assistant in your tools.
Customisable routines and optional Google connections let the bot do more of the admin. Grok processes the information you share and the connected data you authorise it to access.
The template is free; access to Grok Bot is separate.
